Details
The FBI's Minneapolis Field Office is seeking information regarding the death of Alton Mesteth. In the early morning hours of January 27, 2024, an unidentified person or persons shot from a vehicle into Mesteth’s home on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation near Kyle, South Dakota, killing him. Investigators believe Mesteth was likely not the intended target of the shooting.
Reward
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for the death of Alton Mesteth.
