Circumstances
The FBI's Miami Field Office is seeking information from the public regarding the location of the human remains of Ana Maria Henao Knezevic. Ana Maria Henao Knezevic, age 40, was last seen on surveillance footage walking into her apartment building in Madrid, Spain, at approximately 1:42 p.m., on February 2, 2024. Later that same day, Ana Maria Henao Knezevic is known to have had a video conference call at 7:00 p.m., and sent her last text message to friends at approximately 10:01 p.m. At approximately 9:27 p.m., a male believed to be her husband, David Knezevich, was observed on surveillance footage gaining entry into her apartment building wearing a motorcycle helmet and a reflective vest. The individual spray-painted the only surveillance camera in the apartment building lobby, and subsequently left the building with an object, believed by law enforcement to be a rolling suitcase carrying Ana Maria Henao Knezevic’s body. Ana Maria Henao Knezevic has never been seen again, and all evidence known to date indicates that she is deceased. David Knezevich rented a dark blue 2019 Peugeot 308 with tinted rear windows to drive from Serbia to Spain. He drove from Serbia through Croatia, France, and Italy, until his final destination of Madrid, Spain. During the trip, he stole multiple license plates in an attempt to conceal his movements. He travelled back to Serbia through the same countries and it is believed he disposed of Ana Maria’s remains during this return trip. During the course of the investigation, David died by suicide. The distinctive necklace and journal belonging to the victim were not located in the apartment. They may be recognizable to someone who saw them.
Reward
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $25,000 USD for information leading to the location of the human remains of Ana Maria Henao Knezevic.
