On September 30, 2000, the skeletal remains of an unknown male were recovered on Forest Mountain, six miles west of Yreka, California (Siskiyou County), near an old logging road behind a locked gate. The time of death is estimated to be 6 months to 1.5 years prior. The victim is believed to be of Hispanic or mixed racial descent. The victim had extensive dental work, to include a bridge with caps on his front upper teeth. The following clothing items / belongings were recovered: Rough Riders canvas bag with wallet containing two $1 billsGrey baseball-style hat with “T” on frontWhite tennis shoes (size 8)Brown leather wristwatchPlaid jacket (Levi’s Silver Label brand; size medium)Broken belt with buckleBlack "High Sierra" piece of clothing (size medium)Black clothing item with Mickey Mouse figure (unknown brand and size)White stained bag with blue letters, "Botan No. 1 Extra Fancy" (believed to be a bag of rice) Investigators are asking anyone with information regarding the case or identification of the victim to contact Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office.
