The Federal Bureau of Investigation's Los Angeles Field Office in California is seeking the public's assistance in identifying an unknown individual who appeared to point a firearm and possibly fired a pistol at federal law enforcement officers. On July 10, 2025, at approximately 2:26 p.m., the unidentified male allegedly brandished what appeared to be a pistol and possibly fired toward federal agents conducting a law enforcement operation in Camarillo, California. At the time of the alleged assault, the unknown male is believed to have been participating in a protest. The FBI does not open investigations based on First Amendment protected activity. Assaulting, resisting, or impeding federal law enforcement officers performing their duties is a federal crime.
Reward
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of this unknown suspect.
