On March 18, 1990, 13 works of art were stolen from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, Massachusetts. The artwork is valued at more than $500 million, making this the world’s largest property crime. Investigation by the FBI has determined that the 13 works of art were separated following the robbery and their location could be anywhere worldwide. Several pieces are believed to have moved along the Eastern seaboard through the Mid-Atlantic states down south. The FBI is seeking the public’s assistance in recovering the stolen artwork.
Reward
The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum of Boston, Massachusetts, a non-governmental organization, is offering a reward of up to $10 million for information leading to the safe return of the stolen artwork in good condition. The FBI has no involvement in the administration of this reward or any of its governing terms or conditions.
